David Mann Ride from San Diego Dec 12th

In honor of the late great David Mann and his art each year in December there is a tribute to the man. Held at the Ventura Ca fair grounds this 1 day event hold a swap meet, bike show, live bands and food. The main feature of this tribute is a hall dedicated to the art of David Mann with many of his images for sale.

We will be meeting at the Starbucks/McDonalds parking lot on the south east corner of Clairmont Mesa Blvd and the 805 freeway. This location is in San Diego CA. and is behind the Boomers miniature golf course. Meeting time is 5am and we will be leaving promptly at 5:15am with plenty of gas stops going north for the guys with the smaller tanks.

Our route will take us straight up the 5 to the 101 all the way into Ventura. The route will take us straight through downtown LA and past Universal Studios. Ride back will be the 101, 405 to the 5 south. Time for ride back will be determined.

See you there!

1971 Ironhead Fire Breather!

A month ago I stumbled upon this gem well trying to find a bike for carving canyons. She has sat in a corner of the shop and I finally decided to pull some stuff off to see what she is made of .....
Luck enough her past owner had good taste. She is a stock frame with the typical Santee weld on that was reworked and gusseted top and bottom. Stainless hand made sissy bar with a Chicca fender mounted. Some Z bars from Slim and may favorite a 11:1 twin spark 71 kick only power plant.
When I got her home after some messaging I got her fired and all I have to say is she sounds pissed at the world! I decided to open up the primary and poke around her to make sure she will be a solid runner, so far so good! A new ignition, carb and spoke wheel up front with disk and we can see just what this beauty is capable of!

This week we will be heading north to Oceanside CA. We will be heading form our meeting spot in Mission Valley CA. up the 15 and across the 78 freeway making this our longest ride yet!
Our 1st stop will be the Red Rooster on Oceanside Blvd. It features drink specials and claims to have one of the best burgers in town!

Our second stop will be a short blast down the PCH south to the Lucadian in Lucadia CA. This dive bar features drink specials and live bands. Its a cool place and if you like looking at hot chics this is your place! Bring cash as they do not have credit card abilities.

From the Lucadia we will be aiming our bikes south down the 101 for a long coastal ride. When we get to Torrey Pines we will hop on the freeway for a blast south to one of our old Favorites the Tower Bar on University Ave.

Be sure to dress warm and bring cash as the stops we hit most the time dont have ATM or credit card machines.

What you can build using Paughco products!

I used a S120 Paughco frame with no stretch and stock rake to build my 1960 XLCH. I ride all over and wanted a frame that would hold up to the abuse of long distance riding. Paughco products are made in the USA and make their frames to order.
Check out the link to their line up and for your best pricing call us with the part number and your questions at 858-231-6565. If we don't answer leave a message and we will get back with you promptly.
